Terranova Ranch
Project Summary
Paul Halajian Architects designed a net-zero carbon office pavilion for Terranova Ranch, using cove to optimize energy performance and sustainability. Initially, the building had an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of 43 kBtu/sf/yr, which was improved through envelope upgrades, glazing, and solar panel integration, achieving an 84% carbon reduction. The addition of heat recovery systems and energy management further reduced the EUI to -1.5, achieving net-positive energy. cove’s analysis enabled data-driven decisions, ensuring sustainability while maintaining cost efficiency and design integrity.
